Her newest assignment, and possible big break, is an article for her magazine on the sex resort that just opened. The only problem is it\u2019s couples only. Although she writes about having red-hot sex, she\u2019s been single longer than she\u2019d like to admit. Enter her coffee shop crush, who she\u2019s been secretly ogling every morning. Trouble is, he doesn\u2019t know she exists. <\/p>\n<p>When Nate Winslow recognizes the shy, quiet woman at Sufficient Grounds as the author of the sex columns that fuel his fantasies, he\u2019s surprised. And the last thing he expects is an invitation to join her at a sex resort. But his answer is hell yes!<\/p>\n<p>Rae and Nate have enough chemistry in the bedroom to set the sheets ablaze. Even under the worst conditions, she wasn\u2019t bad looking. With Carla\u2019s help, she could be downright pretty. But the problem was all of this was fake.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Rae isn&#8217;t comfortable as either her everyday self or her &#8220;sexy&#8221; counterpart\u00a0D\u00e9sir\u00e9e. \u00a0She&#8217;s\u00a0obsessed with being this caricature of &#8220;sexiness,&#8221; which as far as I can tell, involved having perfectly done makeup and revealing clothes she was uncomfortable in &#8211; basically an external version of a stereotypical male fantasy. \u00a0Normally I&#8217;d be all in for an initially unlikeable insecure woman who learns to love herself, but goodness, Rae was just over the top obnoxious and awful to Nate, and seemed to have no clue as to how unfair she was being to him. \u00a0The sex scenes were hot, but I had a hard time reconciling how they acted with each other outside of the bedroom. \u00a0Also, for a sex resort, it was all very vanilla, even The Barn, which was a letdown after all the hype.<\/p>\n<p>Honestly, after struggling to get around 60% in, I skimmed the rest, mostly just to see if Nate would get finally get fed up with Rae. \u00a0Unfortunately, this was just not the book for me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The blurb for this book sounded deliciously sexy, but unfortunately, it just didn&#8217;t work for me.
