it means shock!<\/p>\n<p>I generally like checking out anthologies as I think it&#8217;s a great way to find new authors. \u00a0It takes a certain kind of storyteller to manage a short story, though,\u00a0considering you need to condense so much plot and characterization into not too many pages. \u00a0The same thing holds true for comics, as there&#8217;s a total of 21 stories in the 166 pages of this book &#8211; so only about 8 pages per story. \u00a0Considering the shortness of each one, I&#8217;m doing a short 1-2 sentence review along with a rating and art sample. \u00a0So without further ado&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2549\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.llamareadsbooks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/shock1.jpg?resize=565%2C579\" alt=\"shock1\" width=\"565\" height=\"579\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Witch Work&#8221; &#8211; Neil Gaiman, Michael Zulli &amp; Marshall Dillon &#8211; \u2605\u2605\u2605\u2605\u2605. \u00a0A lyrical, creepy poem with beautiful sepia-toned art.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2551\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.llamareadsbooks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/shock2.jpg?resize=216%2C284\" alt=\"\" width=\"216\" height=\"284\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Bloodflies&#8221; &#8211; Andy Clarke &#8211; \u2605\u2605\u2605\u2605. \u00a0Not exactly a pleasant story, but it definitely told a story in a few pages and the art was atmospheric and supported the story perfectly.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2553 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.llamareadsbooks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/shock4.jpg?resize=625%2C141\" alt=\"shock4\" width=\"625\" height=\"141\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Invasion&#8221; &#8211; Marko Stojanovi\u0107, Ivan \u0160anovi\u0107 &amp; Marshall Dillon &#8211;\u00a0\u2605\u2605\u2605. \u00a0An interesting end to the anthology.<\/p>\n<p>All told, the ratings average out to about 3.5 stars, but I&#8217;ll round up to 4 just because I think the idea of a comics anthology is pretty great. \u00a0Yes, some stories were spectacular, some worked, and some were just plain awful, but that mixed bag is about what you get with any anthology. \u00a0There&#8217;s not really an overarching theme to the anthology, with genres ranging from scifi to fantasy to just plain weird. \u00a0There&#8217;s enough diversity here though that I think pretty much any comic book reader could find something to love!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"border-top-left-radius: 2px;
